This church was built as an extension of the first historic chapel and was opened on November 23, 1929. The bell tower was added in 1937. Every year, on December 8, a big celebration is held in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

The church was founded in 1863 and was originally made of adobe bricks. During the War of the Triple Alliance, it was used as a hospital and shelter for wounded soldiers. Because of its historical importance, it was declared a Cultural Historical Monument of the Province of Corrientes.
This church is an important religious and cultural place. It is part of the local heritage and is very important to the people of Paso de la Patria.
